Judge Mary Tom Cravens Curnutt (“JPMT”) Announces Campaign for Reelection in 2026

TARRANT COUNTY, TX — Justice of the Peace Mary Tom Cravens Curnutt (Precinct 2) today announced her candidacy for a third four-year term in the 2026 election, continuing her dedicated service to Arlington and Tarrant County. A fifth-generation Arlington resident, Judge Curnutt has built a reputation on conservative leadership, community engagement, and an exceptionally efficient court that serves the region with fairness and integrity.

“My calling has always been to help people solve problems fairly and efficiently,” Judge Curnutt said. “It is a privilege to stand up for our community and uphold the values we cherish.”

She is endorsed by many past and present local leaders who recognize her commitment to conservative governance and community partnerships. Judge Curnutt is also proud to receive strong bipartisan support from those who witness her dedication firsthand.

During her tenure, Judge Curnutt has overseen an average of 20,000 cases annually and has achieved one of the lowest pending case volumes in the county system. Her commitment to hard work, prompt scheduling, clear procedures, and efficient adjudication has caught the attention of organizations such as Tarrant County Dispute Resolution, Texas Justice Court Training Center, City of Arlington Municipal Court, Arlington and HEB Independent School Districts and Goodwill of North Central Texas who have recognized and partnered with her in developing and teaching best-practices. Judge Curnutt is a passionate advocate of education and has worked to develop partnerships with school districts, alternative educational programs, and services to help eliminate student barriers to achieving High School Diplomas.

Judge Curnutt commented on her service:

“Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I have seen first-hand how efficient courts and compassionate leadership can restore trust, reduce backlogs, and protect individual liberties. I am asking for the privilege to continue this work.”
